Position Overview
The Procurement Officer will play a critical role in managing vendor relationships, sourcing high-quality materials, and ensuring efficient procurement processes. This position is based in Addis Ababa, with responsibilities extending to supporting operations at the mining site.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Finance Managers to prepare budget forecasts for procurement activities.
- Identify and select vendors based on quality, pricing, and reliability.
- Regularly review and update vendor and supplier databases.
- Negotiate pricing and finalize supply contracts.
- Ensure all procured items meet quality standards and specifications.
- Organize and oversee the transportation of materials to project sites.
- Track shipments to ensure timely and safe delivery.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare performance reports.
- Support the development and execution of departmental plans.
Qualifications and Requirements
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing and Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Studies, or Marketing from an accredited university.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Exceptional multitasking and time management abilities.
- Keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Goal-oriented and capable of working collaboratively with management and staff at all levels.
